Prospec Reimagines Changing Facilities With Beach Hut Style

At Hilsea Lido, an outdoor swimming pool opened in 1935 in Portsmouth on England’s south coast, Prospec has installed bespoke changing facilities. Named “Classic Beach Huts”, they combine bright colours with materials designed for outdoor use.

A much-loved swimming destination for generations, Hilsea Lido holds a special place in the city’s history. Inspired by traditional beach huts, the new Prospec changing rooms reflect its seaside character while meeting swimmers’ practical needs.

Seaside Style, Built to Last

Behind their beach hut appearance, the changing facilities feature solid grade laminate (SGL) suitable for outdoor use. Resistant to water and impact, this material is particularly well suited to pool environments and frequently used facilities.

With this project, Prospec combines bespoke design and durability to create changing facilities that contribute to the character of their setting.
